The Challenge
Rolling out 5G services across 200+ cities required testing of new RAN equipment, core network upgrades, network slicing capabilities, and backward compatibility with 4G/LTE. The operator needed to validate QoS guarantees for enterprise clients while maintaining existing service levels.
Our Solution
We deployed a distributed testing team of 120 engineers across 5 regional hubs. Our testing covered radio access network performance, core network signaling, network slice isolation, and end-to-end service quality. We built automated test suites for 3GPP compliance validation and developed custom tools for network slice performance testing.
5G represents a generational leap in telecommunications technology, bringing not just faster speeds but fundamentally new capabilities like network slicing and ultra-reliable low-latency communication.
Our testing approach was structured around the three key 5G use cases: enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC), and massive machine-type communication (mMTC).
Network slicing validation was particularly complex, requiring us to verify that multiple virtual networks could operate independently on shared physical infrastructure without interference. We developed custom testing tools to inject controlled load on individual slices while monitoring cross-slice performance.
The rollout was executed in three phases — metropolitan areas first, followed by suburban and then rural deployments — with continuous regression testing ensuring each phase didn’t impact previously deployed areas.
